Robby Krieger & Scotty Medlock

These two incredible forces will once again host their Annual Celebrity Golf & All-Star Concert event. Longtime pals Scott Medlock & Robby Krieger invite many of their good friends from Music, Sports, TV, Film and Business each year to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Internationally renowned Sports Artist Scott Medlock and the Legendary Guitarist for THE DOORS Robby Krieger have been close friends for over twenty years and both share a common passion golf, music, family and for raising money for their favorite charities. Over the past several years they have created an event that is considered by many, to be a 'One-of-a-Kind' event. "It all started in 2008 when "Robby and I wanted to help fund the Pat Tillman Foundation scholars who were the veterans and their families, after Tillman died. Pat was such a selfless guy in giving up a great life in the NFL to go fight in the war for our great country and ultimately lose his life. He had so many qualities that Robby and I admire and we wanted to pay our respects", said Medlock. In 2011 Medlock was invited to play in his good friend Patrick Warburton's celebrity golf tournament and happen to be paired with Rick Shadyac (CEO of St. Jude/ALSAC). The two of them quickly became buddies and within a couple of days Scott was wanting to help the kids of St. Jude. "I remember calling Robby from my hotel room and telling him about just how much I was effected by meeting the St. Jude kids. Also, I had memorized all the facts and figures that Rick had shared with me about St. Jude and the fact that it cost approx $1.7 million dollars each and every day to keep the doors open at the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Robby was also blown away. Shortly after, I called Patrick and told him that I was so inspired by these kids, that Robby and I are going to help this wonderful cause that Mr. Danny Thomas started over 50 years ago. Simply amazing! “St. Jude has become one of our favorite charities and we are honored to help the kids who benefit from the first-class treatment the hospital provides,” said Medlock. “The fact that we’ve been able to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for such a worthy charity, says a great deal about our sponsors, donors, participants and volunteers.” Krieger echoed his sentiment. “The work they do at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is some of the most important work anyone can do: helping children,” said Krieger. “Outside touring, this is something on my schedule that I look forward to the entire year because of what this means for so many people.” MORE:
